Medical Administrative Specialist

The Medical Administrative Specialist program is designed to prepare individuals for careers as entry level medical office assistants for diverse health care delivery systems including private medical practices, clinics, public health departments, insurance agencies, government agencies, or out-patient departments of hospitals. This program gives the student the option to specialize in either a medical coding or transcription concentration. On completion of this program, the student will be prepared for the Certified Medical Administrative Specialist (CMAS)(AMT) Certification exam.

For this program, minimum academic requirements are a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or better and a 66.66% completion rate. Please refer to academic standards on page 23 of the course catalog for more information.
