Immunization Info

All degree- or diploma-seeking students born after December 31, 1956 must provide proof of two doses of immunization against measles, mumps and rubella--administered after 1968 and after the first birthday--and against tetanus and diphtheria administered within the last 10 years.

Official documentation must include immunizing agent, dosage, date on which immunization was administered and the signature of the administering medical official,

OR

Laboratory slip showing positive immunity through titer (blood work) testing.

How To Apply

  1. Application for Admission. Candidates for admission to Beal College must complete the Application for Admission and submit it with the required non-refundable $25 application fee to:

  2. College Visits. Beal College welcomes and encourages prospective students and their parents to make an appointment to tour the campus. The College recommends that applicants schedule an admissions visit. This provides an excellent opportunity to discuss, in detail, intended programs of study and educational plans and goals. Please contact the Admissions Office or the Business Office to arrange a date for an appointment.

  3. Transcripts or GED Scores. Candidates must submit a final official high school transcript (sent directly from the high school) showing graduation date (contact the guidance department at the high school attended), official passing GED scores (available by contacting the GED Board), or a signed self-certification of high school graduation or passing GED (form available from the admissions office).

    Those students who have earned their high school diploma through home-school education must provide passing GED scores.

    For those students who have earned at least an Associate Degree and whose official college transcript indicates a high school graduation date, an official college transcript may be submitted in lieu of the above forms.

  4. Immunization Information. Beal College complies with the State of Maine statute regarding immunization requirements for students attending post-secondary institutions.

  5. Medical Assisting Candidates Only.Medical Assisting candidates must submit a completed Student Health Profile form and documentation of Tuberculosis testing. Forms are available through the Admissions Office.

    The Hepatitis B vaccine series is also recommended for students participating in Medical Assisting classes. The vaccine is available through clinics coordinated by the program director. For cost and information contact the program director.

  6. Students with Special Needs. See page 8 of our course catalog for information regarding documentation for special academic consideration or services for a learning and/or physical impairment. This documentation must be provided at the time of admission.

  7. Re-entering Students. Students wishing to re-enter Beal College after a period of absence of six or more consecutive MODs (one year) are required to submit an updated Application for Admission. Re-entering students will be required to complete the academic requirements of their program from the catalog under which they are re-admitted. Please contact the Admissions Office for further information.

  8. Transfer Students.Students transferring to Beal College from other post-secondary educational institutions need to submit a copy of the transcript from the college or university previously attended. A maximum of 36 credit hours will be accepted toward an associate degree and a maximum of 18 credit hours will be accepted toward a diploma. Please see additional information concerning transfer credits on pages 26-27.

    Applicants who are requesting Veterans Administration (GI Bill) educational benefits are required to have all previous postsecondary education and training evaluated for possible transfer credit. Applicants with military service should send a copy of their Army/ACE Registry Transcript Service (AARTS) or a SMART (Sailor/Marine Corps American Council on Education Registry Transcript) to the College for credit evaluation.

  9. Non-Degree Students.Students who do not wish to enroll in a degree or diploma program but want to take individual courses may do so under Non-degree Status. Students under Non-degree Student Status are required to follow the admissions policies with regard to submission of an Application for Admission and official high school transcript, GED scores or college transcripts indicating a high school graduation date. Non-degree students must meet the prerequisite requirements for the courses of their choice. Non-degree students are not eligible for financial aid as they are not enrolled within a degree or diploma program. The Director of Student Affairs is the authorized advisor for class registration purposes.

    Should a Non-degree student wish to declare a degree or diploma program, all admissions requirements must be met and appropriate forms filed with the Admissions Office. Contact the Admissions Office for further information.

  10. Acceptance The College will notify the applicant of an acceptance decision as soon as the candidate’s admission file is complete.
